An employee of The Independent Electoral Commission of Iraq takes time out from administering the election to take part in noon prayer at a school turned polling station in Najaf. Masses of citizens showed up at their designated polling places all over the city dressed in their best clothes. “They are standing in line to vote outside like they are waiting for a wedding,” one voting official said about the mood of voters. |
