The U.S. Ambassador to Iraq, Zalmay Khalilzad, uses the Red Phone, a secure phone line from his office deep inside the presidential palace in Baghdad’s Green Zone. During the day Khalilzad meet with representatives of Iraq’s constitutional committee. He encouraged Shiite members to ease back on wording about the inclusion of Islamic law and encouraged Federalism. |
