U.S. Major General J.D. Thurman, commanding General, 4th Infantry Division walks with Maj. Gen. Mubdar Hatim Hazya al-Duleimi, the commander of the Sixth Division of the Iraqi Army, center, and his son, after a transfer of authority ceremony at Forward Operating Base Constitution west of Baghdad. Mubdar Hatim Hazya al-Duleimi was fatally shot by a sniper on several days later while driving in western Baghdad, according to American and Iraqi officials. General Duleimi was the highest-ranking Iraqi military officer to be killed since the American-led invasion in 2003.
