The Shah-do-Shamshira Mosque is regularly used and on Wednesday mornings the Sufi sect of Islam uses the mosque for its mystical prayers, chants and dancing that brings them closer to God. Sufis seek to achieve communication with God through various acts of meditation, recitation of sacred phrases, controlled breathing, dancing, hymn singing, music, and physical gyrations. |
